The story begins saying the Kingdom of Heaven is like ten virgins waiting for the bridegroom. Five of the virgins were wise and five were foolish.
The wise brought extra oil for their lamps and the foolish did not.
While waiting for the bridegroom to come, they all slept. At midnight it was heard that he was coming.
All the girls arose and lit their lamps. The foolish girls lamps had no oil left, so they asked the wise virgins for some. The reply No, or there wouldn't be enough for themselves and for them to go find someone who could sell them some. So the foolish girls left.
The bridegroom came and took the five wise virgins into the marriage feast.
The foolish girls knocked on the door, but was told he didn't know them and didn't let them it.

Converted unto the Lord - Bednar
What I Learned
I have thought about this for a while now before I composed what I learned. I love the analogy Elder Bednar used in his talk about this parable. He said "we need to keep our lamps of testimony burning and obtain an ample supply of oil of conversion."
I have been able to take this analogy and understand so much more then I ever got out of this story before.
I need to have a lamp (testimony) first, before I can fill it with oil (to be truly converted, to have my heart changed to want to do good).
I have to continually fill it with oil (conversion).
I need to want to follow and do his will otherwise my oil will run out and my lamp (testimony) will be worthless (or no more).
I can not share my oil (conversion) with another. It must be somethings I have purchased.
I can send others to the merchants to get more oil (I can lead or direct others to the gospel, but they are the ones to decide it they will fill their lamps with it or not.)
I can be ready and waiting that the bridegroom may use my lamp to see me, and allow me to enter the feast.
