Her Story (My Narrative and Pondering)
The daughter of a ruler of a synagogue named Jairus was very sick and dying. Her father went to Jesus and told him about his dying child. He asked Jesus to come and lay his hand on her and heal her. Jesus arose and followed the father. As the mother of a child, would I encourage my husband to seek out Jesus to save our daughter?
While on their way to the house, a messenger came and told the father that his daughter was dead, and they didn't need Jesus to come anymore. Jesus heard the messenger and told the father to not be afraid, but to only believe. He then requested that no one else but Peter, James and John to follow them.
When Jesus got to the rulers house and people were gathered and wailing for the twelve year old daughter had died. Jesus told them the damsel was not dead but sleeping. Everyone laughed and ridiculed him. Do I have enough faith to believe he could save my daughter, even if I thought she was dead?
But they moved away and allowed Jesus to pass through. He took his disciples and the parents of the child and went in,He took the young hand and told her to arise, and she did. Everyone was astonished and Jesus asked that no one should know what he had done. He then said that the girl should be given something to eat. Would seeing my daughter now alive change my faith, or was it already strong?

What I Learned
As a mother, I would hope to never personally experience the death or almost death of a child. I do hope I would be strong, and have the faith needed to accept his will to happen.
